The details riders notice first

High-brightness headlight

A powerful beam that makes night riding comfortable, not just possible.

NFC display

Upgraded keyless start — tap the card against the display and go.

Quick-release motors

Brake disc and inner-tube swaps go from a chore to a few minutes’ work.

Easy to service

Connectors unplug instead of unsoldering — maintenance stays simple for the life of the machine.

Lithium battery

40 miles rated — and the flat-out number too

The 48V 18.2Ah pack pairs prismatic lithium cells with a high-performance BMS. Nanrobot publishes both figures and so do we: up to 40 miles at an easy pace, and at least 20 miles even held at maximum speed. Charging takes 7–8 hours.

Powerful motor

Two motors, one easy service day

Front and rear 800W hub motors pull the Lightning Pro up 30° slopes without drama and give it the dual-motor launch feel bigger machines are known for. Both run quick-release connectors, so wheel-off jobs don’t involve wiring surgery.

  • 1,600W combined output
  • 30° climbing capability
  • Quick-release connectors at both wheels

Disc brake + EBS

More rotor, shorter stops

Dual disc brakes give the pads a larger friction surface — which is exactly what you want when scrubbing off speed from 36 mph — and the electronic braking system adds a second layer the moment you touch the lever.

Suspension

KKE hydraulics on a commuter

Hydraulic suspension usually lives on flagship machines. The Lightning Pro carries front and rear KKE hydraulic units with swing arms and C-type geometry — cracked pavement and cobblestones arrive at your feet already softened.

8.5” wide tires

Wide where it counts

The 8.5” pneumatic street tires trade sheer diameter for a wider, grippier footprint — better traction and stability in corners, with the air cushion soaking up vibration the way solid tires never can.

Folding and size

The one that actually fits

Folded to 46.5” × 26” × 20.9”, the Lightning Pro slides into car trunks that swallow no other dual-motor machine. The 8.5”-wide deck keeps the standing platform full-size while the footprint stays compact.

  • Folded: 46.5” × 26” × 20.9”
  • Deck width: 8.5”
  • Also available with a detachable seat ($999)

Questions riders ask

Nanrobot Lightning Pro FAQ

How fast is the Lightning Pro?
36 mph from its dual 800W motors — genuine dual-motor acceleration in a package most single-motor commuters can’t match on hills.
What range should I expect?
Up to 40 miles ridden gently, and Nanrobot commits to at least 20 miles even held at maximum speed — a refreshingly honest floor that most brands don’t publish.
Why choose it over bigger dual-motor machines?
Size. It delivers dual-motor pull and hydraulic suspension while staying agile and trunk-friendly — the machines above it in the range weigh 85–120 lbs.
Can I ride it in the rain?
Light rain and wet-road splashes are fine under its IP54 rating; heavy downpours and deep puddles are not. And never charge a wet or swollen battery — bring it straight in to us.
What brakes does it use?
Dual mechanical disc brakes plus an electronic braking system — a two-layer setup with plenty of rotor surface for confident stops from top speed.
How does it handle rough pavement?
Front and rear KKE hydraulic suspension with C-type swing arms, plus the air cushion of 8.5” wide pneumatic tires. It rides far more smoothly than solid-tire or basic-spring commuters.
Are the tires tubeless?
No — the Lightning Pro runs inner tubes in its 8.5” tires. Our technicians handle tube changes quickly thanks to the quick-release motor connectors.
How does the NFC unlock work?
Tap the included NFC card against the display to power up — no key to carry or lose.
How big is it folded?
46.5” × 26” × 20.9” — compact enough for most car trunks, at 70.55 lbs.
What’s the seat option?
$999 adds a detachable seat (it ships separately from the e-scooter). Pull it off in seconds to ride standing.
Can I test ride one?
Yes — come feel how the compact frame carries dual-motor power: find your nearest Wilson’s shop.
Who services it?
Our technicians, in the shop — tires, brakes, diagnostics and everything else, any brand, any issue.
