The commuter with nothing to inflate
The S3 rolls on honeycomb tires. There is no tube inside them and no air, so there is no pressure to keep on top of and nothing for a nail to let out of them. For a rider who wants an electric scooter to behave like an appliance, that removes the one job the other models still ask for.
Solid tires usually cost you comfort. Hiboy answers that here with rear suspension, so the wheel that carries most of your weight has travel underneath it and the deck is not being fed every seam in the road.
The rest is a straightforward daily commuter. Nineteen miles an hour, seventeen miles of range, 34.5 lbs, folding to just over a foot and a half tall. Three lights, a disc at the back and electronic braking through the motor. It is the model in the Hiboy line that asks the least of its owner.
Honeycomb instead of air
The tire is a molded lattice rather than a hollow casing. It flexes where an air tire would compress, and because there is nothing inside to escape, a nail or a shard of glass is a mark on the tread rather than a walk home.

Two brakes, working together
The motor brakes electronically the moment you pull the lever, and a mechanical brake on the rear wheel does the rest. Two systems sharing one job means less heat through either of them and a shorter stop than a single brake manages.
A 350W motor takes it to 19 mph and up a 15% grade, which covers most city streets and every bridge approach you are likely to meet on a commute.

What are honeycomb tires?
Solid tires molded with a lattice of hollow cells instead of a sealed air chamber. The cells give them some of the flex of an air tire, and because there is no air inside, they cannot go flat.
Do the Hiboy S3 tires ever need pumping up?
No. There is no valve and no pressure to set. It is the main reason people choose this model over the air-tire ones in the range.
How far does it go on a charge?
Up to 17 miles. Rider weight, terrain, temperature and speed all change what you actually see.
How fast does it go?
19 mph. Check your local rules; New York City sets a 20 mph limit for electric scooters.
