Hiboy Q2 Lite

Three speeds, and you decide which one they get

The Q2 Lite is sized for ages five to eight, and its three modes are a ladder rather than a menu. A child starts at the bottom and moves up when you decide they are ready, not when they find the setting themselves.

3Eco · mphWalking pace. The setting for a first ride, a driveway, and learning where the brake is.
6Standard · mphA jog. Enough to keep up on a path once they can steer and stop without thinking about it.
9Sport · mphThe top setting, and the one they will ask for. Save it for open space and a confident rider.

Modes change on the handlebar, and a 100W motor means nine miles an hour is genuinely the ceiling. Five miles on a charge, back to full in three hours.

Sit or stand

It comes with a seat and a basket

The padded seat means a child can ride sitting when their legs get tired and standing when they want to feel fast. Most kids do both inside one afternoon.

Behind it, the basket is in the box rather than sold separately. Toys, a water bottle, whatever they insist on bringing. It is the difference between a ride and an expedition.

  • Seat Padded, fitted
  • Basket Included in the box
  • Throttle Thumb
  • Max load 110 lbs / 50 kg

Rolling and stopping

Tires that cannot go flat, brakes that work together

Eight and a half inch puncture-resistant tires, so sidewalks, brick paths and park gravel are all fair game and there is nothing to pump up before you leave the house.

Two brakes share the job. The motor slows it electronically the moment the lever is pulled, and a drum brake in the rear wheel finishes the stop. Sharing it that way is what stops a child being thrown forward by a sudden grab.

  • Tires 8.5″ puncture-resistant
  • Brakes Electronic + rear drum
  • Max climb 5% grade
  • Water resistance IPX4

What a parent checks

Certified, non-toxic and pinch-free

The things that matter on a children's product are not the ones on the front of the box. Here is what the Q2 Lite actually holds.

  • UL 2272 batteryCertified, with built-in protection against overcharging, overheating and short circuits.
  • CPC and EU standardsThe children's product certifications required to sell it here and in Europe.
  • Non-toxic materialsEco-friendly throughout, which matters on something that gets handled and chewed.
  • Pinch-free designNo exposed gaps and no sharp edges, so small fingers and loose clothing stay out of trouble.
  • Rubber anti-slip deckTextured footboard that holds a shoe even when the ground is wet.
  • Three lightsHeadlight, rear brake light, and a deck strip that cycles through colors.

A helmet and pads are not in the box. Bring your child into any of our shops and we will size both properly while they try the ride on the floor.

Questions

Hiboy Q2 Lite, answered

What age is the Hiboy Q2 Lite for?

Hiboy sizes it for five to eight years old. In practice the limits are the 110 lb weight rating and the 26 inch bar height.

How fast does it go?

Nine miles an hour at the top setting. The lower two are 6 and 3 mph, and a 100W motor means nine is genuinely the ceiling.

Can I limit the speed?

Yes. Set it to Eco at 3 mph for a beginner and move up as they get confident. The mode is changed on the handlebar.

Does it come with a seat?

Yes, a padded one, and a basket is in the box as well. Your child can ride sitting or standing.

Is the battery certified?

UL 2272, with protection built in against overcharging, overheating and short circuits. The Q2 Lite also meets CPC and EU child safety standards.

How does it brake?

Two systems on one lever. The motor brakes electronically, and a drum brake in the rear wheel does the rest, so stops are smooth rather than abrupt.

Do the tires need pumping up?

No. They are 8.5-inch puncture-resistant tires, so there is nothing to inflate and nothing to go flat on a Sunday.

How far does it go on a charge?

Up to five miles. Rider weight, speed mode, surface and how much stopping and starting there is all change the figure.

How long does it take to charge?

Three hours from empty, the quickest in our kids range.

What is the maximum rider weight?

110 lbs, or 50 kg.

How heavy is it?

25.79 lbs. An adult carries it comfortably; a five-year-old will want help.

Can it be ridden in the rain?

It is IPX4 rated, so damp ground and splashes are within what it handles. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen. Bring it straight in to us instead.

What should they wear?

A helmet every time, and knee and elbow pads while they are learning. We size and fit both in store. Adult supervision is worth keeping up for the first few outings on the top mode.
