NAVEE ST3

Twenty-two per cent sooner

Very few electric scooter makers publish a tested braking figure. NAVEE does. The ST3 uses three systems together — a front drum, a rear disc and EABS regenerative braking — and NAVEE puts the result at 22% shorter than a single-brake setup, tested to ASTM F2641 at 25 mph.

Single-brake setupReference

Three systems sharing the work means none of them is asked for everything. The front drum is sealed against water and grit so it behaves the same in February as in July; the rear disc gives the sharper, more modulated bite; and EABS brakes electronically through the motor while returning energy to the pack. NAVEE’s figure is measured to ASTM F2641 at 25 mph.

Four damping arms

How the NAVEE ST3 electric scooter smooths a city street

The ST3 carries Damping Arm suspension at both ends — four arms in total, finished in gold, and they are the first thing anyone notices about the electric scooter.

NAVEE developed the design specifically for urban roads rather than trails. A conventional spring stores the energy of a bump and hands it straight back; the damping arm meters that return, so the wheel settles instead of bouncing.

The tires are 10-inch tubeless, and NAVEE describes them as self-sealing, with a gel layer rated to close punctures up to 4 mm.

An energy recovery system puts charge back every time you brake or ease off the throttle — NAVEE quotes 15% more recovered than without it.

The working numbers

Thirty-seven miles, and the lights come on by themselves

37 miles at 9 mph, or 22 miles at 20 mph. Both are NAVEE’s published figures from the 477.4Wh pack, and the second is the one to plan a fast commute around.

500W rated, 1000W peak, for 24.9 mph and a 24% climb with up to 265 lbs aboard.

Automatic 2W headlights that come on by themselves as the light drops, with front turn indicators and a rear tail light. Indicating without taking a hand off the bar is worth more at a junction than any number on this page.

Ergonomic grips shaped to reduce hand fatigue on longer rides, and an IPX5 rating for rain and road splash.

It folds to 1200 by 600 by 596 mm at 54.7 lbs net.

One note on the numbers: a summary card on NAVEE's page reads 20 MPH while their specification sheet says 24.9 mph. We publish the sheet figure and have raised the difference with them.

Questions

NAVEE ST3, answered

How fast is the NAVEE ST3 and how far does it go?

NAVEE's specification sheet gives 24.9 mph, with 37 miles of range at a steady 9 mph or 22 miles at a sustained 20 mph from the 477.4Wh pack. A summary card on their page reads 20 mph; we publish the sheet figure and have raised the difference with them.

What braking system does the ST3 use?

Three together: a front drum brake, a rear disc and EABS electronic regenerative braking. NAVEE measures the result as 22% shorter stopping than a single-brake setup, tested to ASTM F2641 at 25 mph. Sharing the work between three means none is asked for everything.

What is the Damping Arm suspension?

NAVEE's own design, fitted here at both ends — four arms in total. A conventional spring stores the energy of a bump and returns it immediately; a damping arm meters that return, so the wheel settles rather than bouncing. It was developed specifically for city roads.

Are the tires puncture resistant?

The sheet lists 10-inch tubeless tires, and NAVEE describes them as self-sealing with a gel layer rated to close punctures up to 4 mm. With no inner tube there is also nothing to pinch.

How long does the ST3 take to charge?

Eight hours from a standard household outlet, which makes it an overnight charge.

Does it have lights and indicators?

Yes. Automatic 2W headlights that switch on by themselves as the light drops, front turn indicators and a rear tail light.

What is the energy recovery system?

Regenerative braking that returns charge to the pack every time you brake or ease off the throttle. NAVEE quotes 15% more energy recovered with it than without.

How steep a hill can it climb?

24% gradeability, from a 500W rated motor with a 1000W peak.

Is the ST3 waterproof?

It carries an IPX5 rating, so light rain and wet roads are within it. Avoid standing water. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.

How much weight can it carry?

265 lbs.

How heavy is it and does it fold?

54.7 lbs net, folding to 1200 by 600 by 596 mm. That fits a car boot and stands behind a door, and it is within carrying weight for most adults over a short flight of stairs.

Does it have traction control and Apple Find My?

Both. TCS trims power the moment the driven wheel turns faster than the road under it, and Apple Find My is built in so the electric scooter appears alongside your phone and keys.

ST3 or ST3 Pro?

The ST3 Pro is the same frame with a 1350W peak, a 596.7Wh pack for 46.6 miles, a 28% climb and self-sealing tubeless tires listed on the sheet itself. The ST3 is the lighter, quicker-charging one at a lower price.

What warranty comes with it?

A year of cover through us as standard, and we handle any claim with NAVEE for you. NAVEE is a brand we carry rather than one we design, so the three-year cover on Wilson’s-designed rides does not apply here.

Who services it, and can you get parts?

Our own technicians, at all six shops, with express service available at every one. We service any brand, whether you bought it from us or not.
