The adrenaline pick

The Ausom L2 Max dual motor e-scooter is the one built to be ridden hard

Two 1000W brushless motors, a forged aluminum frame, three-inch rubber and the biggest battery on the Gosoul-and-L2 side of Ausom's range. It commutes all week, and the photography on this page shows what it does on the weekend.

Suspension

Swingarms tuned for speed over bad ground

ShocFree dual swingarm suspension carries both wheels, damping the hits that broken pavement and packed trail deliver at 38 mph pace. It steadies the machine against high-speed wobble as much as it cushions it.

The damping adjusts to the rider. Heavier or faster, wind it firmer; rougher ground ridden longer, back it off.

10" x 3" tubeless, with tread that means it

A full three inches of width puts a wide contact patch under the speed, and the deep tread bites into gravel, sand and mud. Tubeless construction resists punctures and holds pressure at 50 PSI, so flats are the exception rather than the schedule.

Range

56miles

The 48V 20.8Ah battery holds 998.4Wh, the largest in this part of Ausom's line, and its power management stretches every charge across the ride rather than the first half of it. Hills, pace and rider weight bring the real number down, and the margin is generous. Charging takes 5.5 to 12 hours depending on the charger and state of charge. Never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.

Tap a card or an NFC phone, or key in a passcode. Three cards come in the box, and without one of the three the machine stays locked where you parked it.

USB-A and USB-C ports

Front-mounted outputs charge a phone, action camera or GPS while you ride, so navigation on a long day out never costs you a battery pack in your bag.

Fit

One machine, nearly all riders

Ausom sizes the L2 Max as one e-scooter for nearly all riders: recommended heights run 4'11" to 6'7" with a 287 lb maximum load, for riders aged 16 and up. It stands 56.5 inches tall unfolded, folds to 22 inches, and weighs 73.4 lbs, a machine that rolls into a trunk rather than rides on a shoulder.

Questions

Ausom L2 Max dual motor e-scooter FAQ

How fast does the Ausom L2 Max dual motor go?

Up to 38 mph, from two 1000W brushless motors producing 2688W at peak. E-scooter speed limits vary by city and state, and NYC's street limit sits well below the machine's maximum, so ride to your local rules.

How far does the L2 Max go on one charge?

Up to 56 miles from the 48V 20.8Ah (998.4Wh) battery under standard conditions. Pace, hills, rider weight and temperature all pull the real figure down, so plan your daily riding with a margin below the rating.

How steep a hill can it climb?

It is rated for a 34% grade, the strongest climbing rating in Ausom's commuter-derived line. Both motors driving is what keeps that rating honest with a full-sized rider aboard.

Is the L2 Max good for off-road riding?

It is the model Ausom photographs on rock, dirt and gravel. The forged aluminum frame, deep-tread 10" x 3" tubeless tires, adjustable dual swingarm suspension and dual motor traction are all built for exactly that, alongside its road manners.

What is the difference between the L2 Max and the Gosoul 2 Pro?

They are close in spirit and different in build. The L2 Max carries a bigger 998.4Wh battery, wider 3-inch deep-tread tires, a forged 6061 aluminum frame, USB charging ports and the AirTag mount, and runs to 38 mph. The Gosoul 2 Pro is lighter and a step less expensive with the same 56-mile rating. Both are on our floors to ride back to back.

How long does the L2 Max take to charge?

Ausom quotes 5.5 to 12 hours depending on charger and how empty the battery is; with the included 54.6V 2A charger, overnight covers it. Never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.

How heavy is the L2 Max dual motor?

73.4 lbs. The weight carries the battery, both motors and the forged frame, and the machine folds to 22 inches tall so it rolls into a car trunk rather than being carried up stairs.

How much weight can it carry?

Up to 287 lbs, with the dual motors keeping acceleration and climbing strong near the top of that range.

Does the L2 Max have an AirTag mount?

Yes, a dedicated concealed mount. Fit an Apple AirTag and the machine reports its location through Find My, which pairs well with the NFC and passcode locks when parking in public.

Can it charge my phone?

Yes. Front-mounted USB-A and USB-C ports power a phone, action camera or GPS unit while you ride.

What brakes does the L2 Max have?

Mechanical disc brakes front and rear with E-ABS, which cuts motor power the moment either lever moves. From 38 mph capability, that combination is the specification that matters most.

Is it OK to ride in the rain?

The IP54 rating covers light rain and road splash. Charge only when the machine is dry, and let it dry out after a wet ride before plugging in.

What rider height fits the L2 Max?

Ausom's chart recommends riders from 4'11" to 6'7". The 21.6 x 7.5 inch deck is the roomiest in their commuter line, and two minutes on a floor model at any of our shops settles fit for certain.

What age is the L2 Max intended for?

Riders aged 16 and older, per Ausom. Rules on riding age and where e-scooters may be ridden vary by area, so check yours.

Where can I test ride or service an Ausom electric scooter near me?

At any Wilson's shop near you. Test rides are free, and our technicians service any brand with express service at every one of our locations. Find your nearest shop.
