The commuter that climbs

The Ausom L1 electric scooter, quietly the steepest climber in the line

Every faster, dearer machine on this floor concedes one number to the L1: its 40% climbing grade. Built on the same ShocFree dual swingarm platform as the Gosoul family, it adds an adjustable-height handlebar no other Ausom has, and keeps the price where a first serious e-scooter should be.

Uphill ability

40%

Gearing over headline wattage: the L1's single 800W motor is tuned to pull, and its 40% grade rating out-climbs every dual motor machine Ausom makes. If your ride home ends up a hill that other e-scooters treat as a suggestion, this is the one that keeps its pace on it.

Adjustable handlebar

The only Ausom that adjusts to the rider

Every other model in the line fixes its bar height. The L1's stem adjusts from 46.5 to 54.3 inches, which stretches its fit from 4'8" to 6'7", the widest of any Ausom. One machine genuinely fits a household: the shorter rider commuting on it weekdays, the taller one borrowing it at the weekend.

748.8Wh, up to 44 miles

The 48V 15.6Ah battery rides low in the deck and rates at up to 44 miles under standard conditions, with power management that favors battery life over drama. A full charge takes about 11 hours on the included charger, so overnight covers it. Never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.

Tires

10" x 2.75" tubeless, treaded for real weather

Multi-directional tread channels water, mud and slush out from under the contact patch while keeping asphalt grip, and the tubeless build resists punctures without pressure fuss. City streets in January and park paths in June, on one set of rubber.

Braking

E-ABS anti-lock, discs both ends

Disc brakes front and rear with E-ABS that keeps the wheels from locking on wet roads and gravel. Ausom rates the system at up to 40% shorter stops than mechanical brakes alone, and modulation stays precise when a stop turns into an emergency one.

The daily details

Built for the part between rides

NFC and passcode security

Tap one of three included NFC cards or an NFC phone, or key the passcode. The four ride modes on the display run from Park to Race, and without a key it stays in Park for good.

Folds in three moves

Latch, drop, clip: 22 inches tall and ready for a trunk or a train. At 60.8 lbs it is the second-lightest machine on the Ausom shelf, and it carries shorter distances without complaint.

An anti-slip deck with real room

The 20.3 x 7.5 inch platform is textured edge to edge, holds up to 287 lbs, and spreads your stance enough that stop-and-go traffic stops being leg day.

Fit

The widest fit range Ausom makes

With the adjustable stem, the L1 fits riders from 4'8" to 6'7", for ages 16 and up. It stands between 46.5 and 54.3 inches tall depending on the bar setting, folds to 22 inches, and weighs 60.8 lbs. Stand on the floor model at any of our shops and try both ends of the adjustment.

Questions

Ausom L1 electric scooter FAQ

How fast does the Ausom L1 electric scooter go?

Up to 28 mph from its 800W motor, which peaks at 1104W. E-scooter speed limits vary by city and state, so ride to the rules where you live.

How far does the L1 go on one charge?

Up to 44 miles from the 48V 15.6Ah (748.8Wh) battery under standard conditions. Hills, speed, rider weight and cold weather bring the real figure down, so plan daily rides with a margin below the rating.

Can the Ausom L1 really climb a 40% hill?

That is Ausom's published rating, and it is the strongest in their entire line, dual motor models included. Rider weight and battery level affect climbing pace, but bridge approaches and steep residential streets sit comfortably inside a 40% rating.

Does the L1 have an adjustable handlebar?

Yes, and it is the only Ausom that does. The stem adjusts from 46.5 to 54.3 inches, fitting riders from 4'8" to 6'7", which makes it the practical pick for households where more than one person will ride it.

Is the L1 good for shorter riders?

It is the best fit in the Ausom range for them. The bar drops to 46.5 inches, and Ausom's fit chart starts at 4'8", lower than any other model they make.

What brakes does the L1 have?

Disc brakes front and rear with E-ABS anti-lock, which keeps the wheels turning on wet pavement and gravel. Ausom rates the system at up to 40% shorter stops than mechanical brakes alone.

How long does the L1 take to charge?

About 11 hours from empty with the included 54.6V 1.5A charger, so it charges overnight. Never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.

How heavy is the Ausom L1?

60.8 lbs, one of the lightest machines on the Ausom shelf. It folds in three moves to 22 inches tall and goes into a trunk or under a desk without ceremony.

How much weight can the L1 carry?

Up to 287 lbs, the same rating as the dual motor Gosoul models, with the climbing gearing to keep pace at the top of it.

L1 or Gosoul 2 — which one should I choose?

They share the speed and range ratings, so choose by fit and terrain. The Gosoul 2 carries a wider deck and a larger 44-50 PSI tire for the smoothest boulevard ride. The L1 answers two questions the Gosoul 2 cannot: a genuinely steep daily hill, and a bar that adjusts to riders of different heights. Both are on our floors to compare.

Is the L1 OK to ride in the rain?

Its IP54 rating covers light rain and splash, and the multi-directional tread is cut for wet surfaces. Let it dry before charging.

How does the NFC unlock work?

Tap one of the three included NFC cards or an NFC phone on the display, or enter your passcode. Without one of the three, the L1 stays locked where you parked it.

What ride modes does the L1 have?

Four on the display: Park, Eco, Sport and Race. Eco stretches the battery furthest; Race opens the full 1104W peak.

What age is the L1 intended for?

Riders aged 16 and older, per Ausom. Local rules on riding age and where e-scooters may be ridden vary, so check yours.

Where can I test ride or service an Ausom electric scooter near me?

At any Wilson's shop near you. Test rides are free, and our technicians service any brand with express service at every one of our locations. Find your nearest shop.
