Riding’times Z8 Pro

Built for more of your everyday life

From the commute to the weekend, the Z8 Pro is the Riding’times model made for the widest range of riders. Fat tires for kerbs, gravel and beach roads, a long memory-foam seat with an extended pillion, a rear rack, and two batteries so the question of charging comes up once a week rather than once a day. Ride to work. Ride for fun. Ride wherever the day takes you.

The signature

What a second battery buys you

Riding’times publish range for the single-battery Z8 and the dual-battery Z8 Pro, on the throttle and with pedal assist. Laid side by side, the second pack does exactly what you would hope: it doubles every figure. On assist, the Pro is a hundred-mile machine.

Riding’times’ published bands. Real range depends on speed, terrain, rider weight and temperature.

Fat tires

All-terrain fat tires

Twenty by four inch tires put a wide, soft footprint on the ground. On tarmac that means kerbs and potholes arrive softened; on gravel, sand and grass it means grip where a narrow tire would wash out. It is the reason a Z8 Pro feels planted at low speed with a passenger on the back, and why it can leave the paved path when the pavement ends.

  • Tires 20 x 4 inch fat
  • Front aluminium hydraulic fork, 6.7 in travel
  • Rear shock, 6-level adjustable
  • Climbing 15°

Everyday freedom

Built for the daily ride, and the long one

The riding position is upright and relaxed, the memory-foam seat is long enough to slide back on, and the rear rack and included rack bag carry a laptop or a week’s shopping. The 750W motor is a class 1 to 3 unit with a speed-limit setting, so the same machine can be ridden at 15 mph on a shared path or 31 mph where that is allowed.

  • Motor 750W rated, 1500W peak, 80 Nm
  • Class 1 to 3, speed-limit setting
  • Top speed 31 mph (15 mph limit mode)

Riding’times Z8 Pro questions we get asked

How fast is the Riding’times Z8 Pro?
Up to 31 mph, with a 15 mph limit mode for shared paths. It is a class 1 to 3 e-bike with a speed-limit setting, which we set for you at handover.
How far does it go on a charge?
Riding’times publish 50 to 74 miles on the throttle alone and 100 to 120 miles with pedal assist from the two 48V 15.6Ah packs. Speed, hills, rider weight and cold weather all reduce that.
Are the batteries removable?
Yes, both. They lift off to charge indoors, two chargers are included so they fill together in seven to nine hours, and each pack has a USB port.
Is the Z8 Pro street legal?
Riding’times build it to comply with e-bike regulations as a class 1 to 3 machine with a speed-limit setting. Which class is legal on which road varies by state and city, so check the rules where you ride and set the limit accordingly. We are happy to talk it through in the shop.
Can two people ride it?
It comes with an extended rear seat and a 330 lb load limit, which covers rider, passenger and cargo together. Passenger rules vary by state and city, so confirm it is permitted where you ride, and make sure the passenger has secure seating and foot support.
Is it good for a beginner?
It is the most beginner-friendly machine in the Riding’times range: compact frame, upright position, fat tires, suspension and smooth power delivery. First-time e-bike riders, daily commuters and casual weekend riders all get on with it.
Can it handle off-road riding?
Gravel, grass, trails and uneven ground, yes, on its 20 by 4 inch fat tires and full suspension. For serious dirt, the GT73 is the one built for it.
How is it different from a regular fat tire e-bike?
The moped-style frame, two removable batteries, a 1500W peak motor and full suspension. Most fat tire e-bikes have one battery and a rigid rear end.
What suspension does it have?
Six-level full suspension: an aluminium hydraulic front fork with 6.7 inches of travel and a rear shock. We set the level for your weight at handover.
What brakes does it have?
Front and rear mechanical disc brakes, with electronic braking from the motor.
How heavy is it?
91 lbs with both batteries fitted, 112 lbs in the box.
Can I ride it in the rain?
Rain and splashes are fine. Never pressure-wash it, and never charge a machine that is wet or whose battery looks swollen or damaged; bring it straight in to us.
Does it come assembled?
From Riding’times it ships about 85 percent built, with the front wheel, fender, seat, rack and headlight to fit. From us it arrives complete and checked by our technicians.
Z8 Pro or GT73?
The Z8 Pro is a pedal-friendly fat tire e-bike for commuting and cruising, with a rack and a passenger seat. The GT73 is a full-size electric motorbike with 2400W and 85 miles, built for dirt.
Do you have it in stock?
Stock moves. Call (516) 300-0944 or come in and we will tell you where the nearest one is.
Can I pay in instalments, and who services it?
Financing is available on the Z8 Pro. Servicing is by our technicians in the shop, with express service at every one of our locations, on any brand and any issue.
