Forty-three miles an hour, on one motor
Almost every electric scooter that reaches 43 mph does it with two motors. The KUKIRIN G4 electric scooter uses a single 2000W unit. That is a real engineering choice with real consequences in both directions, and the honest way to present it is as a ledger rather than a boast.
2000W single · 43 mph · 43 mi · 60V 20Ah · 11″ tires
Read the right-hand column first. If your route has a serious hill on it, the G4 is the wrong machine in this range and the G3 Pro is the right one. If it does not, the left column is a genuinely good deal.
The second thing the KUKIRIN G4 electric scooter gets right
Wheel size is the specification that changes a ride most and gets discussed least. An 11-inch wheel drops less far into a pothole than a 10-inch one, rolls over a kerb lip more willingly, and is more stable at speed because the contact patch moves less as the surface changes.
On a machine that reaches 43 mph, that stability is not a comfort feature. Only the G4 Max and its 12-inch wheels go larger in this range.
They are tubeless, so there is no inner tube to pinch. A puncture is less likely to end the ride outright and a slow one deflates gradually rather than instantly.
The deck is 51 by 22 cm, the second widest here. At 43 mph you want to stand with your feet apart and braced rather than in a line, and there is room to do it.

An unusually wide spread between the modes
Twelve miles an hour to forty-three is a very large jump across three settings, and it is more useful than a tighter spread would be.
Twelve is slow enough for a crowded shared path or for handing the machine to somebody who has never ridden one. Plenty of machines have no mode that slow.
Twenty-four is the everyday setting and where most G4 owners spend their time.
Forty-three is the full 2000 watts. It is genuinely fast, it demands open road and full attention, and it is not a setting to leave engaged by default in traffic.
Set the mode before you set off rather than reaching for it on the move. On a machine this quick that is the single most useful habit to build.
- Motor — single 2000W
- Top speed — 43 mph / 70 kph
- Speed modes — 12 / 24 / 43 mph
- Range — 43 miles / 70 km
- Charge time — 10 to 12 hours
The two things to plan around
Neither is a fault, and both are worth knowing before you buy rather than after.
The charge takes 10 to 12 hours. Once the G4 is flat it is unavailable until tomorrow. With 43 miles of range that rarely matters, but it does rule out riding it empty in the morning and again in the evening. If that pattern is your life, the G3 Pro fills a larger battery in five to six hours through two ports.
Eighty-one and a half pounds is a lot. It folds, and it will go in a car boot, but it is a two-person lift and it is not going up a flight of stairs. Ground-floor storage makes owning this machine straightforward and anything else makes it a project.
There is a seat available as an option at checkout, shipped separately, which changes the character of the machine considerably on a long ride. KUKIRIN also includes a carry bag.
Tubeless tires still want their pressure checked. It is the one bit of upkeep that changes how the G4 rides and the one everybody skips. We do it at every service.

One correction worth making here rather than leaving you to find it: KUKIRIN's own marketing text lists the speed modes as 20, 10 and 70 km/h, which is not in ascending order and is plainly a typo. Their structured spec sheet gives 12, 24 and 43 mph, which is coherent, and that is what we publish.
One motor, and someone to ask about it
Six shops across New York and California. Whether a single-motor machine suits you comes down to your route, and that is a two-minute conversation rather than a specification.
KUKIRIN G4, answered
How fast is the KUKIRIN G4 electric scooter?
43 mph, or 70 kph, in the top of three modes. The lower two are 12 mph and 24 mph, which is an unusually wide spread and a useful one.
Is a single motor a disadvantage?
It depends entirely on your route. One big motor means fewer parts to fail, no torque split between two wheels, simpler servicing and good efficiency. What it gives up is climbing, at 20°, and traction on a loose uphill. Flat riding suits it; hills do not.
How far does it go on a charge?
43 miles, or 70 km, from the 60V 20Ah battery.
How long does it take to charge?
Ten to twelve hours. That is the longest charge time in the range, so once it is flat the G4 is unavailable until the next day.
Can it climb hills?
It is rated to 20°, the lowest of any KUKIRIN we carry. That covers ordinary city gradients. If your route has a sustained climb, the G3 Pro is rated at 25 to 35° and the G2 Master at 28°.
Why are the 11-inch tires worth having?
A larger wheel drops less far into a pothole, rolls over a kerb lip more easily and is more stable at speed. On a 43 mph machine that stability is a safety feature rather than a comfort one.
What does tubeless mean?
There is no inner tube inside the tire. A tube punctures all at once; a tubeless tire often seals small punctures and deflates gradually. On a commute that is the difference between late and stranded.
How much weight can it carry?
265 lbs, or 120 kg.
How heavy is it, and can I carry it?
81.5 lbs. It folds and will go in a car boot, but it is a two-person lift and not a machine for stairs. Ground-floor storage makes it much easier to live with.
Is there a seat available?
Yes, as a paid option at checkout, shipped separately. On a 43-mile machine it changes the character of a long ride considerably.
Why do the speed modes look wrong on other sites?
KUKIRIN's marketing text lists them as 20, 10 and 70 km/h, which is not ascending and is obviously a typo. Their structured spec sheet gives 12, 24 and 43 mph, and that is what we publish.
How does it compare to the G3 Pro?
The G4 is 3 mph faster and $400 cheaper. The G3 Pro has hydraulic brakes rather than cable discs, charges in 5 to 6 hours instead of 10 to 12, goes 6 miles further, carries 65 lb more and climbs far better. For most riders the G3 Pro is the better machine; the G4 is the better price.
Can it be ridden in the rain?
It carries an IP54 rating, so light rain and wet roads are within it. Avoid standing water. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.
How does the warranty option work?
You choose 12 months as standard or 24 months extended at checkout. KUKIRIN is a brand we carry rather than one we design, so it comes with a year of cover through us as standard, and we handle any claim for you.
Who services it, and can you get parts?
Our own technicians, at all six shops, with express service available at every one. We service any brand, whether you bought it from us or not.
