The MX35 is where our own electric dirt bike range starts. Anybody landing on the least expensive of three machines deserves to know what the extra money buys before they decide to spend less, so here is the whole ladder with nothing hidden.
Prices are the base tier before the warranty option. Note the MX40 undercuts the MX37 despite being faster, because the MX37 spends its money on suspension and brakes rather than on outright speed.

What the MX35 gives up is speed, range and the MX37's suspension. What it keeps is the steel frame, the tire sizes, the disc brakes, the IPX5 rating and the load capacity. It is a smaller machine in output, not a cheaper one in construction.

We also sell electric dirt bikes for children. They do 13 to 15 mph, weigh 38 lb and are built for a garden. The MX35 does 34 mph and carries 265 lb. The two things share a silhouette and nothing else, and nobody should arrive at one expecting the other.
A 1500W rated motor with 3000W available at maximum is real acceleration. On a 48V 20Ah pack that gives 25 miles, which at these speeds is a genuine session rather than a lap of a field.
The chassis is steel with a 60/100-14 front and 60/100-12 rear, which is proper dirt-bike sizing: a taller front wheel to roll over obstacles and a shorter, fatter rear for drive. Front and rear disc brakes, and an IPX5 rating that covers wet ground and spray.
Charging takes under six hours on the supplied 3A charger.

Where you can actually ride an electric dirt bike
It comes up before anything about the motor, and it deserves a straight answer rather than a shrug.
An electric dirt bike has a throttle, no pedals and a motorcycle layout. That usually puts it outside what is permitted on a public road, a sidewalk or a shared path, and a 34 mph machine is firmly outside anything intended for a cycle lane. The places it is unambiguously fine are private land, and parks or trails where the owner allows it.
Rules vary between states, between towns and between individual trails, and they change. We are not going to publish a list here that goes stale and misleads somebody. Tell us where you live and where you were planning to ride, and we will tell you what applies before you buy rather than after.
Protective gear is not optional on a machine that does 34 mph. A helmet every time, and gloves, boots and body armour if you are riding anything technical. We size and fit helmets and pads in store.
Where the entry model does not cut corners
There is a version of a cheap electric dirt bike that saves money in the frame and the brakes. This is not that machine, and the reason is straightforward: we designed it, and those are the two places we were not prepared to save.
The frame is steel rather than a lighter alloy. Heavier, and considerably more tolerant of being dropped, which on a first off-road machine matters more than a couple of pounds.
Front and rear disc brakes. On a 34 mph machine on loose ground, braking at both ends is the specification, and this is the one component where the MX37 pulls meaningfully ahead with its hydraulic four-piston setup.
The tires are the same 60/100-14 and 60/100-12 fitted to the MX40, with the same aggressive tread. You are not getting a lesser tire because you spent less.

Rather than bundling a warranty into the price and calling it free, we sell it as a choice. The machine is the same in every tier; what changes is how long we cover it for. These are the prices you will see in the variant picker.

For suspension at both ends and far better brakes, the MX37 is the enthusiast machine. For outright speed and a premium battery with a helmet and lock included, the MX40 does 40 mph. Here is every electric dirt bike we carry.
Seat height is the figure most riders want and we do not currently publish it. Rather than estimate, come to any of our six shops and sit on one. Whether you can get a foot down comfortably is the whole test and it takes a minute.

How fast is the MX35?
34 mph, or 55 km/h. That is the slowest of our three MX machines and still far quicker than anything with pedals on this site.
How far does it go on a charge?
Up to 25 miles, or 40 km, from the 48V 20Ah pack. Rider weight, terrain and how hard you use the throttle all reduce it.
How long does it take to charge?
Under six hours from empty on the supplied 3A charger.
Is this suitable for a child?
No. This is an adult machine doing 34 mph with a 265 lb load rating. Our kids electric dirt bikes are a completely different thing: the DK1 and DK2 do 13 to 15 mph, weigh 38 lb and are built for a garden or a park.
Where am I allowed to ride it?
Private land, and parks or trails where the owner permits it. A throttle, no pedals and a motorcycle layout usually put it outside what is allowed on roads, sidewalks and shared paths. Rules vary by state, town and trail, so tell us where you are and we will tell you what applies.
Why is the MX40 faster and cheaper than the MX37?
Because they spend their money differently. The MX37 puts it into dual suspension and hydraulic four-piston brakes; the MX40 puts it into motor and battery. Neither is a mistake, they are answers to different questions.
How does the warranty option work?
You choose a tier at checkout: none at $599, one year at $699, two at $799, three at $899. The machine is identical in every tier. Servicing happens at our own shops either way.
Should I buy the warranty?
If you ride often or ride hard, yes. Off-road use is harder on a machine than commuting, and three years at $100 a year is straightforward arithmetic. If it is going to see occasional weekend use on easy ground, the shorter tiers are reasonable.
How much weight can it carry?
265 lb, or 120 kg, which is the same as the MX40.
What is the seat height?
We do not currently publish one and we would rather not estimate. Come to any shop and sit on one, which answers it properly.
Does it have suspension?
We do not publish a suspension specification for this model, unlike the MX37 where dual suspension front and rear is stated. If suspension is what you are after, that is the machine to look at.
What tires does it run?
60/100-14 at the front and 60/100-12 at the rear, the same as the MX40. Taller at the front to roll over obstacles, shorter and fatter at the rear for drive.
Can it be ridden in the wet?
It carries an IPX5 rating, so wet ground and spray are within it. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge it while it is wet, or if the battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.
