NAVEE G5 Pro

Same cells, more pressure

The NAVEE G5 Pro electric scooter and the standard G5 carry the same 7.65Ah of cells behind the same 800W motor. The Pro runs them at 46.8 volts instead of 36, and that single change is worth six extra miles and a steeper hill. Here is why.

NAVEE G5 — 36V
The G5 pack at 36 volts Seven point six five amp hours of cells at 36 volts gives 275.4 watt hours of stored energy. 7.65 Ah 36 VOLTS 275Wh

Amp-hours measure how much charge is stored. Volts measure the pressure it comes out at. Multiply the two and you get watt-hours, which is the number that turns into miles: 275.4Wh, or 28 miles.

NAVEE G5 Pro — 46.8V
The G5 Pro pack at 46.8 volts The same seven point six five amp hours of cells at 46.8 volts gives 358 watt hours of stored energy. 7.65 Ah 46.8 VOLTS 358Wh

The same charge at higher pressure carries thirty per cent more energy: 358.02Wh, or 34.2 miles. The higher voltage also gives the motor more to work with on a hill, which is where the climbing figure moves from 18% to 20%.

Knowing where the NAVEE G5 Pro electric scooter is

Find My is built into the electric scooter itself, so it appears in the same app as your phone, your keys and your headphones. No separate account, no separate map, no subscription.

The NAVEE app adds a lock, along with speed modes, battery health and firmware updates. Locking from your phone as you walk away from a electric bike rack takes about a second.

Both are worth setting up the day you take it home. We do it in the shop before you leave and pair it to your phone while you are standing there, because a tracker only helps if it was switched on before you needed it.

Underneath

Sprung at both ends, sealed at the front

Front fork and rear arm suspension. Both wheels are sprung, which at 46.7 lbs means the frame is not the thing absorbing kerb ramps and expansion joints — you are not, either.

A front drum brake with rear EABS. The drum is fully enclosed, so grit and water never reach the friction surface and it behaves the same in February as in July. EABS brakes electronically through the motor and puts a little charge back while it does.

TCS traction control trims power the moment the driven wheel spins faster than the road beneath it.

Ten-inch tubeless tires with no inner tube to pinch, and IPX5 sealing for rain and road splash.

Folded it is 1138 by 570 by 544 mm, and it carries up to 265 lbs.

  • Suspension — front fork, rear arm
  • Brakes — front drum plus rear EABS
  • Tires — 10″ tubeless
  • Sealing — IPX5
  • Net weight — 46.7 lbs

Questions

NAVEE G5 Pro, answered

What is the difference between the NAVEE G5 Pro and the G5?

Both carry 7.65Ah of cells behind the same 400W rated, 800W peak motor. The G5 runs at 36V for 275.4Wh and 28 miles with an 18% climb; the G5 Pro runs at 46.8V for 358.02Wh and 34.2 miles with a 20% climb. Same frame, same tires, same brakes, same folded size, 0.6 lb apart in weight.

Why does higher voltage give more range from the same cells?

Amp-hours measure how much charge is stored; volts measure the pressure it is delivered at. Watt-hours — the number that turns into miles — is the two multiplied together. Running the same 7.65Ah at 46.8V instead of 36V yields 358Wh instead of 275Wh, which is thirty per cent more energy from the same cell capacity.

How far does the G5 Pro go on a charge?

NAVEE rates it at 34.2 miles at a steady 9 mph. Faster riding, hills, a heavier rider and cold weather all reduce that. For a five-mile round trip it is comfortably a week of commuting.

How fast is it?

20 mph, from a 400W rated motor with an 800W peak.

How long does it take to charge?

Eight hours from a standard outlet, which makes it an overnight charge.

Does the G5 Pro have turn signals?

Yes, on the handlebar. Signalling without taking a hand off the bar makes a real difference at junctions and in the dark.

Does it have Apple Find My?

Yes, built into the electric scooter, so it appears in the Find My app next to your phone and keys with no separate account or subscription. The NAVEE app adds a lock, speed modes, battery health and firmware updates.

What brakes does it use?

A front drum brake with rear EABS electronic braking. The drum is fully enclosed, so water and grit never reach the friction surface and the feel stays the same wet or dry.

Is it waterproof?

It carries an IPX5 rating, so light rain and wet roads are within it. Avoid standing water. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.

How steep a hill will it climb?

20% gradeability, two points steeper than the standard G5, thanks to the higher pack voltage.

How heavy is the G5 Pro?

46.7 lbs net, folding to 1138 by 570 by 544 mm. That is light enough for most adults to carry up a flight of stairs.

How much weight can it carry?

265 lbs.

Should I buy the G5 Pro or the G5 Max?

The G5 Max carries 477.36Wh for 43.5 miles, a 1000W peak and a 24% climb, at 49.8 lbs. If your riding is under about 25 miles between charges, the G5 Pro covers it for less and weighs three pounds less. If you want to stop thinking about the battery altogether, take the Max.

Does it have traction control?

Yes. TCS trims power the instant the driven wheel turns faster than the road under it, which is what keeps it tracking straight on wet paint.

What warranty comes with it?

A year of cover through us as standard, and we handle any claim with NAVEE for you. NAVEE is a brand we carry rather than one we design, so the three-year cover on Wilson’s-designed rides does not apply here.

Who services it, and can you get parts?

Our own technicians, at all six shops, with express service available at every one. We service any brand, whether you bought it from us or not.
