NAVEE N65i

Off-road width, city wheel

The NAVEE N65i electric scooter takes a normal 10.5-inch city wheel and puts an 80 mm-wide off-road-grade tubeless tire on it. Seen from the front, that is the whole idea of the electric scooter in one section.

A standard city electric scooter tire seen head-on A narrow tire section sitting on the road, with a correspondingly narrow contact patch. Standard width NARROW CONTACT PATCH
The NAVEE N65i 80 mm tire seen head-on A much wider tire section on the same size wheel, spreading the load across a broader contact patch. 80 mm, N65i OFF-ROAD LEVEL TUBELESS

A wider tire spreads the same load over more road. That means more grip when you lean it into a turn, more stability over a broken surface, and a bigger cushion of air between the rim and the pothole. NAVEE’s description is exact: off-road size on a standard wheel.

How the NAVEE N65i electric scooter stops and signals

Braking is a front drum, a rear disc and E-ABS working together. The drum is sealed against water and grit so its feel does not change with the weather, the disc gives the sharper bite, and E-ABS brakes electronically through the motor while returning charge to the pack.

The indicators are E-Mark turn signals with synced beeps — they make a sound as well as a light, so you know they are on and so does anyone alongside who is looking the other way.

NAVEE describes an automotive-grade energy recovery system feeding the pack, which is built from 18650 lithium cells.

The frame is double foldable, folding at the stem and again at the bar.

Forty miles

City manners, off-road footing

NAVEE rates the N65i at 40 miles and 25 mph from a 1000W motor, with a 22° hill-climbing figure. For a five-mile round trip that is a full working week with a weekend still in reserve.

What the wide tires change is not the numbers but the confidence. Kerb ramps, tram lines, gravel on a corner and the joins in a bridge deck all arrive with less drama than they do on a narrow tire, and the tubeless construction means there is no inner tube waiting to be pinched.

The double-folding frame is what keeps a electric scooter this substantial storable, coming down at the stem and again at the handlebar.

It is, in NAVEE’s own words, off-road design brought to the city — and that is the right way round for most riders.

One note on the numbers: a summary card on NAVEE's page reads 20 MPH while their specification sheet says 25 mph. We publish the sheet figure and have raised the difference with them. The final group lists figures NAVEE publishes in their product copy for this model rather than in the specification table itself. We reproduce them because they are useful and because they are NAVEE’s own; nothing on this page is inferred.

Questions

NAVEE N65i, answered

What makes the N65i tires different?

They are 80 mm wide on a 10.5-inch wheel — off-road width on a city-sized rim, in NAVEE’s own description. A wider tire spreads the same load over more road, which means more grip through a turn, more stability on a broken surface, and a bigger cushion of air between the rim and whatever you ride over.

How fast is the N65i and how far does it go?

NAVEE's specification sheet gives 25 mph and 40 miles of range from the 1000W motor. A summary card on their page reads 20 mph; we publish the sheet figure and have raised the difference with them.

What braking system does it use?

Three together: a front drum, a rear disc and E-ABS electronic regenerative braking. The drum is sealed so its feel holds through the winter, the disc gives the sharper bite, and E-ABS returns charge to the pack while it slows you.

What are E-Mark turn signals with synced beeps?

Indicators that sound as well as light. You know they are on without looking down, and so does anyone alongside who happens to be looking the other way.

How steep a hill can it climb?

NAVEE quotes a 22 degree hill-climbing figure for this model.

What does double foldable mean?

The electric scooter folds at the stem and again at the handlebar, which is what keeps a machine this substantial storable in a hallway or a car boot.

Are the tires tubeless?

Yes. With no inner tube there is nothing to pinch, so a puncture is much less likely to end a ride outright, and a slow one deflates gradually rather than all at once.

Is the N65i waterproof?

It carries a water-resistance rating, so light rain and wet roads are within it. Avoid standing water. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.

What is the energy recovery system?

Regenerative braking that puts charge back into the pack every time you slow down. NAVEE describes theirs as automotive grade, feeding a battery built from 18650 lithium cells.

Is it a good electric scooter for rough city streets?

That is exactly what it is for. The wide tubeless tires and triple braking are what let it deal calmly with tram lines, kerb ramps, gravel on a corner and the joins in a bridge deck.

N65i or GT5 Max?

The GT5 Max matches it at 25 mph and goes further, 55.9 miles, with traction control and Apple Find My on 10-inch tires. The N65i answers with much wider 80 mm tires and a triple brake system. Choose by surface: smoother streets favour the GT5 Max, rougher ones the N65i.

N65i or XT5 Pro?

The XT5 Pro is the full off-road machine — 12-inch off-road tires, Damping Arm suspension, 31 mph and a 330 lb rating. The N65i is the city electric scooter that borrowed the tires, and it is a good deal lighter to live with.

What warranty comes with it?

A year of cover through us as standard, and we handle any claim with NAVEE for you. NAVEE is a brand we carry rather than one we design, so the three-year cover on Wilson’s-designed rides does not apply here.

Who services it, and can you get parts?

Our own technicians, at all six shops, with express service available at every one. We service any brand, whether you bought it from us or not.
