An electric bike that changes its own gears
Almost everything Segway say about the Myon is about the gearbox. It reads speed, cadence and gradient and shifts for you — so the thing most riders get wrong on an electric bike, and the thing that wears drivetrains out fastest, stops being your problem.
500W rated, 1500W peak · 27.5 × 1.95″ · hydraulic discs · IPX7 battery
The gear you needed, without the thinking
Automatic shifting uses speed, cadence and incline to pick the gear, continuously. Pull away from a junction and it is already in the right one. Hit a climb mid-conversation and it changes before you have thought about it.
On an electric bike this matters more than on a pedal one, because the motor masks the feedback that tells you to shift. Riders end up grinding a high gear uphill without noticing, which is hard on the chain, the cassette and the motor.
You are not locked out of it. Set your preferred cadence and choose Casual, Standard or Sport, and the system works to your rhythm rather than an average one.
The derailleur can even be micro-adjusted in the app — the alignment tweak that normally means a workshop visit, done from your phone.

UL-certified, and rated IPX7
The battery is 48V and 722Wh, UL-certified, with multiple layers of built-in safety and a management system watching over them.
The rating worth noting is IPX7 on the battery against IPX5 on the body. IPX7 means survival in temporary immersion — not a claim you make lightly, and a long way beyond what rain requires.
A full charge takes about 5.5 hours at up to 3.9 amps, for up to 80 miles of range.
One safety point we state on every electric bike we sell: never charge a machine that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.

What else the Myon carries
Segway hydraulic discs
Hydraulic rather than cable, so the lever feel stays consistent as the pads wear and through a wet winter. On an electric bike doing 28 mph with a rider and a load, that consistency is the point.
An 80 mm front fork
Enough travel to take the sting out of a broken road surface without turning the electric bike into something that bobs when you pedal hard.
Brightness that follows the light
The lights read ambient conditions and adjust their own brightness. Nothing to switch, nothing to forget, and nothing dazzling anyone on a shared path.
AirLock, Apple Find My and GPS
AirLock unlocks the electric bike as you approach and locks it as you walk away. Apple Find My and GPS run together, which covers more ground than either alone.
A 2.4-inch colour TFT
Speed, assist level, battery and range on a screen that stays readable in daylight.
Over the air
Software updates arrive through the Segway Mobility App rather than requiring a visit, so the electric bike keeps improving after you have bought it.

Automatic gears are a ten-minute conversation
Six shops across New York and California. Riders either love automatic shifting immediately or want to understand it first, and either way it is better explained on an electric bike than on a page.
Segway Myon, answered
What is electronic automatic shifting, and why does it matter?
The electric bike reads speed, cadence and incline and picks the gear itself, continuously. It matters more on an electric bike than a pedal one because the motor masks the feedback that normally tells you to change — riders end up grinding a high gear uphill without noticing, which is hard on the chain, the cassette and the motor.
Can I still control the gears?
You set your preferred cadence and choose between Casual, Standard and Sport, so the system works to your rhythm rather than to an average. You can even micro-adjust the derailleur alignment from the app, which is normally a workshop job.
How fast is the Myon and how far does it go?
28 mph, with up to 80 miles of range from a 48V 722Wh battery. Torque is 85 Nm, from a 500W rated motor peaking at 1500W.
How long does it take to charge?
About 5.5 hours, at up to 3.9 amps.
Is the battery safe?
It is UL-certified with multiple built-in protection layers and a battery management system. It is also rated IPX7 — survival in temporary immersion — where the body of the electric bike is IPX5. As with every electric bike we sell: never charge one that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us.
Can I ride it in the rain?
It carries an IPX5 body and IPX7 battery rating, so light rain and wet roads are within it. Avoid standing water. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge an electric bike that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.
What brakes does it use?
Segway hydraulic discs. Hydraulic rather than cable means the lever feel stays consistent as the pads wear and through a wet winter, which matters on an electric bike carrying a rider and a load at 28 mph.
What security does it have?
AirLock unlocks the electric bike as you approach and locks it as you walk away, and location runs on Apple Find My and GPS together, which covers more ground than either on its own. We pair all of it before you leave the shop.
What suspension does it have?
An 80 mm front fork — enough to take the sting out of a broken surface without bobbing when you pedal hard. The rest of the comfort comes from the 27.5 by 1.95 inch tires.
What colours does it come in?
Blue, Green and Silver. Choose the colour on this page; the price is the same across all three.
Myon or Xafari?
The Xafari is a fat tire electric bike on 26 by 3.0 inch tires with a bigger 936Wh battery and a rear rack rated to 55 lbs. The Myon is the lighter, faster road-focused electric bike, and it is the only one with automatic shifting.
Do you get updates after buying?
Yes, over the air through the Segway Mobility App, so the electric bike keeps improving without a workshop visit.
What warranty comes with it?
A year of cover through us as standard, and we handle any claim with Segway for you. Segway is a brand we carry rather than one we design, so the three-year cover on Wilson’s-designed rides does not apply here.
Who services it, and can you get parts?
Our own technicians, at all six shops, with express service available at every one. We service any brand, whether you bought it from us or not.
