Every other electric scooter we sell is built for getting you somewhere. This one is built for getting you somewhere with something. A detachable seat and a removable basket both come in the box.

Most short car journeys are errands: a shop run, a school pickup, dropping something off. The ECOM 14 is the ride in our range that actually replaces those.
The deck is nine inches wide, noticeably wider than a standard commuter deck, and that is what makes it comfortable to stand on for a long stretch and stable when the basket is loaded.

Big wheels change what a road feels like
These are the largest tires on anything we stock, closer to a small motorbike wheel than to a commuter electric scooter. A bigger wheel rolls into a pothole rather than dropping into it, and that difference is the single biggest factor in how rough a street feels underneath you.
They are air-filled at both ends, so you can set the pressure for your weight and or for whatever you are carrying. With no suspension needed, there is nothing to service or adjust.
Braking is by disc at both ends, and the levers can be tightened or slackened with a wrench to suit how you like them.
The bar height adjusts, so it suits whoever is riding
The riser is height-adjustable rather than fixed, which matters on a ride that tends to get shared around a household. Set it once for you and drop it for someone shorter. The riding position stays comfortable either way.
It still folds for a car trunk, or for a bus or a train. The basket and seat come off first if you want it as compact as possible.

Does the seat come with it?
Yes. The adjustable seat is included in the box, along with the basket. Both detach, so you can run it as a standing electric scooter whenever you prefer.
How much can the basket carry?
It is sized for the things you would otherwise carry on your back: a couple of shopping bags, a laptop bag, books. The overall rider-and-load limit for the ride is 220 lbs.
How fast does it go?
22 mph, from a 450W peak motor on a 48V system. That makes it the fastest ride in our Hiboy range.
What is the range?
Up to 31 miles on a charge, the longest of any Hiboy we stock. Real range varies with rider weight, load, terrain and speed.
How long does it take to charge?
Five to six hours from empty for the 48V 10Ah battery, so an overnight charge covers it.
Why 14-inch tires?
A larger wheel rolls over a pothole or a curb edge rather than dropping into it, which is what makes a rough street feel smooth. They are air-filled at both ends so you can set the pressure to suit your weight and your load.
Can it climb hills?
Hiboy rates it to 15 degrees, and the 48V system gives it noticeably more to pull with than a 36V commuter.
What brakes does it use?
Disc brakes front and rear. They can be tightened or slackened with a wrench to set the lever feel you prefer, and we will do that for you at the shop.
Can the handlebar height be adjusted?
Yes. The riser is height-adjustable, which is useful on a ride that gets shared between people of different heights.
Does it fold?
Yes. It folds for a car trunk or public transport, and taking the basket and seat off first makes it as compact as it goes.
Can it be ridden in the rain?
It is IPX4 rated, so light rain and splashes are within what it handles. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen. Bring it straight in to us instead.
How much does it weigh?
57.1 lbs with the seat and basket fitted. It is the substantial one in the range, which is also why it stays stable with a load on board.
