Four lights, not one
Most rides at this size get a token front lamp. This one is lit from four directions, which matters most for a younger rider on a street where drivers are not expecting them.

Two brakes, and a certified battery
There is an ABS electronic brake on the motor and a rear foot brake on the fender — two independent ways to stop, which is what you want for a rider still building road sense. Hiboy recommends using both together, and it is worth showing them that on the first ride.
The battery carries UL certification, and the top speed is held at 13 mph — quick enough to keep up on a path, measured enough for a first electric scooter.

Who is the Hiboy S2 Lite for?
Teens and older kids — Hiboy recommends ages 12 and up, riders between 3′7″ and 5′7″, up to 180 lbs. It is designed around a lighter rider rather than being an adult ride with the speed turned down.
How fast does it go?
13 mph in Sport mode. Eco mode keeps the speed lower and the range longer, and you can set it there while they are getting used to it.
How far does it go on a charge?
Up to 10.6 miles. As with any electric scooter that depends on rider weight, terrain and how much of the ride is at full speed — but it comfortably covers a few trips to a friend’s house or a couple of loops of a park.
How long does it take to charge?
Three to five hours from empty with the charger in the box, so an evening on charge is plenty.
Is it a good first electric scooter?
It is one of the best we sell for a first ride. One button runs everything, there is no app to set up, the top speed is measured, and two independent brakes give a new rider a margin. Bring them in and let them try one.
What safety features does it have?
A four-light system covering front, stem, rear and both sides; an ABS electronic brake plus a rear foot brake; a UL certified battery; and a top speed held at 13 mph. A properly fitted helmet is still the most important item — we fit those in the shop too.
Does it have riding modes?
Yes — Eco and Sport, switched with two clicks of the dashboard button. Eco is the sensible setting for the first few weeks.
Does it have cruise control?
Yes, switched on with three clicks of the same button. It holds a steady speed on a long path so they are not holding the throttle the whole way.
What tires does it use?
6.5-inch solid tires front and rear. Nothing to puncture and no pressure to check, which for a young rider means it is always ready to go.
Can it climb hills?
Hiboy rates it to 15 degrees, and the 250W motor with 400W peak takes the sort of gradients you meet on a normal street or park path.
Is it easy for them to carry?
Yes — that is the point of it. 21.8 lbs is the lightest ride we sell, and folded it stands 11 inches tall, so it goes under a bed, in a car boot, or into a hallway without help.
Can it be ridden at night?
The four-light system covers front, rear and both sides, which is more than most rides this size offer. Pair it with a helmet and something reflective and it is well set up for a ride home as the light goes.
Can it be ridden in the rain?
It is IPX4 rated, so light rain and splashes are within what it handles — not standing water or a hose. One safety point worth being blunt about: never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen. Bring it straight in to us instead.
How much weight does it support?
Up to 180 lbs, or 82 kg.
What colours does it come in?
