Ride comfort is not one component, it is a sequence. When the NAVEE UT5 Max electric scooter crosses an expansion joint, three things take a share of it before anything reaches your knees. This is the order they act in.
The first and largest air spring on any electric scooter is the tire itself. Twelve inches of it means a bigger air volume and a shallower angle of attack into the edge of a pothole, so a good part of the hit is rounded off before the suspension has done anything at all. Sealant inside closes small punctures as they happen.
What is left travels into hydraulic dampers at both ends. A spring alone stores the energy of a bump and gives it straight back, which is why a cheap fork feels bouncy. Hydraulic damping meters the return through fluid, so the wheel comes back down under control and stays in contact with the road.
Whatever remains arrives at the deck, and its size is what lets you deal with it. At 545 mm long there is room to stand with your feet staggered fore and aft, so your ankles and knees take the last of it rather than your spine. Stance is a suspension component too.
The result is a 31 mph SuperScooter that stays composed on the surfaces most commutes are actually made of: seams, kerb ramps, sunken drain covers and patched asphalt.

Sixty-two miles, and two hours to fill it
NAVEE rates the UT5 Max at 62.1 miles at 9.3 mph, and 40.4 miles at a steady 15.5 mph — and the second of those is the more useful one, because 15.5 mph is roughly what a real city commute averages once you count the lights.
The pack is 46.8V 15.3Ah at 716.04Wh. A full charge takes seven hours, or two hours in flash mode. Forty miles of real-world range restored over a lunch break is a genuinely different proposition from an overnight-only machine.
The motor is rated at 850W and peaks at 2400W, the same peak figure as each motor in the flagship UT5 Ultra X. That gives 31.1 mph and a 39% climbing rating.

Front and rear disc brakes with EABS. Braking at both ends, plus electronic regenerative braking through the motor that returns a little charge as it slows you. On a electric scooter rated to carry 330 lbs, that shared workload matters.

UT5 Max or UT5 Ultra X
They share a frame, a deck, a folded size, hydraulic suspension at both ends and 12-inch self-healing tires. The differences are in what drives them.
The UT5 Ultra X runs two motors instead of one, which takes it to 43 mph, a 46% climb and 74.6 miles from a 1284Wh pack. It also adds the adjustable soft/hard steering damper and a 3.5-inch display, and it weighs 15 lbs more.
The UT5 Max is the one to buy when the comfort is the point and 31 mph is plenty — which, for city riding, it usually is. You keep the hydraulics, the big tires and the 330 lb rating, at a lower weight and a lower price, and you charge it in two hours rather than three.
Set against the NT5 Max, which runs a similar top speed, the UT5 Max trades a little charging speed for hydraulic damping, bigger self-healing tires and ten more miles of range.
