KUKIRIN G3 Pro

Three things it has two of, and why each pair matters

The KUKIRIN G3 Pro electric scooter doubles up in three places, and they are not the same kind of decision. One is about power, one is about stopping, and one is about the least glamorous problem an electric scooter has.

2
Motors

Dual 1200W

2400 watts of combined rated output, three modes at 15, 27 and 40 mph, and a climbing rating of 25 to 35°.

The second motor is a climbing and traction purchase more than a speed one. Two wheels sharing the load hold grip where one spinning wheel will not.

2
Brakes

Dual hydraulic disc

The only KUKIRIN we carry with hydraulic rather than cable-operated discs, and on a 40 mph machine rated to 330 lb it is the most important specification on the page.

Hydraulics need less hand pressure, self-adjust as the pads wear, and do not lose feel as a cable stretches.

2
Charging ports

Dual charge

5 to 6 hours for a 52V 23Ah pack, because two ports fill it at once.

For comparison the G4 takes 10 to 12 hours on a smaller battery. This is the difference between charging overnight and charging over lunch.

Dual 1200W · 40 mph · 49 mi · 330 lb load · charges in 5–6h

Of the three, the brakes are the one we would point at first. Speed is easy to buy and hard to use; stopping is what makes 40 mph a sensible proposition rather than an alarming one.

The upgrade that matters most

What hydraulic brakes change on a 40 mph electric scooter

A cable disc brake pulls a pad against a rotor with a steel wire. It works, and it degrades in three predictable ways: the cable stretches, so the lever travels further over time; the pads wear without compensating, so you pull harder; and in cold or wet the friction in the cable housing rises.

A hydraulic brake pushes fluid instead. Nothing stretches, the system self-adjusts as pads wear, and the effort at the lever stays the same in January as it was in June.

On a machine that reaches 40 mph and is rated to carry 330 lb, that consistency is the whole argument. The G3 Pro is the only KUKIRIN we stock with it.

Hydraulics do want occasional attention, and it is not a job for a kitchen table. We handle it at any of the six shops.

Forty-nine miles is the longest range in the KUKIRIN range short of the G4 Max.
52V 23Ah, two ports

Forty-nine miles, and a charge that fits in an afternoon

Charging time is the specification nobody compares and everybody lives with. A 10-hour charge means the machine is unavailable for the rest of the day once it is flat. A 5 to 6-hour charge means it is ready again the same evening.

The G3 Pro gets there by taking current through two ports at once on a 52V 23Ah pack, the largest in the range short of the G4 Max. That combination of the longest practical range and the shortest charge is unusual, and it is what makes this the touring machine of the KUKIRIN line.

330 lb of load rating is also the joint-highest here, so a heavier rider is nowhere near the limit and a rider with a loaded backpack is not either.

At 39.6 kg it is the heaviest of the G-series short of the G4 Max, which is the cost of the battery and the brakes.

The recommendation

Who the KUKIRIN G3 Pro is actually for

This is the machine we point at when somebody describes long rides rather than short ones, or when they are a heavier rider, or when they say the word "brakes" unprompted.

Long-distance riders. 49 miles and a 5 to 6-hour charge is the best combination of the two in the range. Nothing else here lets you do a long ride and go out again the same day.

Heavier riders. The 330 lb rating gives real headroom where the G2 family stops at 264 or 265 lb, and a machine well inside its limit rides better than one at the edge of it.

Anyone riding fast in traffic. Hydraulic brakes are the reason. If your riding involves speed and stopping rather than speed alone, this is the KUKIRIN to buy.

If outright pace is the goal instead, the G4 Max does 53 mph and 59 miles for $750 more, at 141 lbs. If the budget matters more, the G2 Master gives 37 mph and 43 miles for $250 less.

Questions

KUKIRIN G3 Pro, answered

How fast is the KUKIRIN G3 Pro electric scooter?

40 mph, or 65 kph, in the top of three modes. The lower two are 15 mph and 27 mph.

Why do hydraulic brakes matter?

A cable brake stretches over time, needs more hand pressure as pads wear, and stiffens in cold and wet. A hydraulic one does none of those. On a 40 mph machine rated to 330 lb, consistent braking is the specification that matters most.

How far does it go on a charge?

Up to 49 miles, or 80 km, from the 52V 23Ah battery. That is the longest range in the KUKIRIN range short of the G4 Max.

How long does it take to charge?

Five to six hours, because it charges through two ports at once. For comparison the G4 takes 10 to 12 hours on a smaller pack.

How much weight can it carry?

330 lbs, or 150 kg. That is the joint-highest rating in the KUKIRIN range and gives real headroom for a heavier rider or a loaded backpack.

Can it climb hills?

It is rated at 25 to 35°. The top of that band is second only to the G4 Max in this range.

How heavy is it?

39.6 kg. It folds to 595 mm tall. At that weight it is a wheeling machine rather than a carrying one.

Is this the right one for long rides?

It is the best combination of range and charge time we stock. 49 miles out and a five-hour turnaround means you can ride again the same day, which nothing else here manages.

What tires does it use?

10-inch pneumatic tires. They hold air, so pressure wants checking, and we set it at every service.

How does it compare to the G4?

The G4 is faster on paper at 43 mph and uses a single 2000W motor, but it charges in 10 to 12 hours and has cable discs. The G3 Pro trades 3 mph for hydraulic brakes, 6 more miles, half the charge time and 65 lb more load rating.

How does it compare to the G4 Max?

The G4 Max is faster at 53 mph, goes further at 59 miles and climbs to 38°, for $750 more and at 141 lbs against 87. The G3 Pro is the more practical machine; the G4 Max is the more extreme one.

Can it be ridden in the rain?

It carries an IP54 rating, so light rain and wet roads are within it. Avoid standing water. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen or damaged. Bring it straight in to us instead.

How does the warranty option work?

You choose 12 months as standard or 24 months extended at checkout. KUKIRIN is a brand we carry rather than one we design, so it comes with a year of cover through us as standard, and we handle any claim for you.

Who services it, and can you get parts?

Our own technicians, at all six shops, with express service available at every one. We service any brand, whether you bought it from us or not.
