Set the speed, then take your thumb off
Cruise control is the feature that separates this from every other seated electric scooter at the price. On a twenty-five mile run, holding a throttle the whole way is the part that actually tires you out.
Three caps, and one that holds
Each mode sets a ceiling. Pick the one that suits the road, and the throttle works within it rather than against it. Cruise control then holds whatever speed you have settled on until you touch a brake.
The motor is rated at 422W and peaks at 527W, which is enough for a 15 degree climb with a rider and a full basket aboard.
- Eco. Shared paths, first outings, and the setting that gets the most out of the charge.11
- Drive. The commuting pace. Quick enough for a bike lane, calm enough to hold all day.16
- Sport. Full output, for open road where the law allows it.20
New York City caps electric scooters at 20 mph, so check your local rules before using Sport on the road.
A thick saddle over springs, not a pad on a frame
The seat is deeply padded and sits on a post over front and rear suspension, so the springs take the hit before your spine does. Seated, you cannot lift out of the saddle the way a standing rider can, which is exactly why this matters here.
Fourteen-inch air tires carry the rest. That is a bicycle-sized wheel, and it rolls over a broken curb edge rather than stopping dead at it.
- Seat Extra-thick padded
- Suspension Front and rear
- Tires 14″ pneumatic
- Frame High-carbon steel
Everything worked from one grip
A thumb throttle rather than a twist, so your wrist stays straight on a long run. The display beside it carries speed, battery level and which mode you are in, and switches both the mode and the lights.
Behind the seat, the basket is fitted rather than optional. Groceries, a backpack, a jacket you took off two miles ago. Drum brakes front and rear do the stopping, enclosed in the hub where road grit cannot reach them.

Hiboy U2 with Seat, answered
Does the Hiboy U2 have cruise control?
Yes. Hold a speed, engage it, and the electric scooter maintains that speed without you keeping pressure on the throttle. On a long run it is the difference between arriving relaxed and arriving with a tired hand.
How fast does it go?
20 mph in Sport, 16 in Drive and 11 in Eco. New York City sets a 20 mph limit for electric scooters, so check your local rules.
What is the range on a charge?
Up to 25 miles from the 374.4Wh battery. Rider weight, terrain, temperature and which mode you use all change what you actually see.
Is the battery certified?
Hiboy states UL 2272 certification for the battery and UL 2271 for the cells.
Does it come with a seat and a basket?
Both are fitted as standard. The saddle is extra-thick padded and the basket sits on a rack behind it.
What colours does it come in?
Black, green and white. Availability varies, so check the picker above or call us and we will tell you what is on the floor.
How is it different from the Hiboy Q2?
They share 14-inch tires, dual suspension, a saddle and a basket. The U2 adds cruise control and a slightly larger battery for 25 miles instead of 22. The Q2 comes in three colours at one price and has a wider footrest.
Does it have suspension?
Front and rear, under a deeply padded seat. Seated riders cannot unweight over a bump, so springs do more work here than on a stand-up model.
What brakes does it use?
Drum brakes on both wheels. They sit enclosed inside the hub, so water and road grit reach less of the mechanism than they do an exposed disc.
How much can it carry?
220 lbs, or 100 kg, in total. That covers the rider and whatever is in the basket.
How long does it take to charge?
Six and a half hours from empty with the supplied charger.
Can I ride it in the rain?
It is IPX4 rated, so splashes and light rain are within what it handles. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen. Bring it straight in to us instead.
Who is the U2 with Seat for?
Riders covering real distance seated. Cruise control, a padded saddle and springs at both ends are what make twenty-five miles pleasant rather than something to get through.
