Hiboy U2 Pro

Built to carry more than a backpack

Most electric scooters move one person and whatever fits on their back. The U2 Pro moves a person plus the shopping, the dog, or the folding chairs, on tires wide enough that a grass verge stops being a detour.

The seat

Memory foam over the rear suspension, so a loaded ride still absorbs the road.

3.5″ foam · 125mm travel
The deck

Flat end to end and textured, on a U-shaped step-through frame.

The basket

Steel, rear-mounted over the driven wheel, and off again with hand tools.

The deck

Floor space, not a footrest

Seventeen inches long and ten across, flat from end to end, with a step-through frame so nothing has to be lifted over. That is room for a crate of shopping, a stack of tools, or a large dog who has decided the ride is his.

The surface is molded rubber rather than grip tape, so it sweeps clean and does not shred what you set on it.

The basket

Bolted on, and off again

The rear basket sits behind the seat on its own rack, deep enough for a week of groceries and open enough to drop things into without unpacking a bag first. It comes off with hand tools when you want the clean lines back.

Behind it, the rear wheel carries the motor and the suspension, so the load sits over the driven end rather than hanging off the back of the frame.

FootprintSixty-four inches long and eighty pounds, closer to a small moped than to a commuter electric scooter. That size is exactly what buys the deck space.

Tires and stopping

Four inches wide, and it shows

Sixteen by four inches of all-terrain tread. That width is what lets it cross grass, gravel and packed snow without picking a line, and it lowers the pressure the tire puts on soft ground so it stays on top instead of digging in.

Rear suspension gives 56mm of effective travel out of a 125mm unit, which takes the edge off a curb drop or a rail crossing. Both wheels have a 160mm disc, and the headlight throws 70 lux about sixteen feet ahead with a taillight that flashes on the brakes.

  • Tires 16 × 4 in all-terrain
  • Rear suspension 125mm, 56mm travel
  • Brakes Dual 160mm disc
  • Lighting 70 lux head, brake tail
  • Water resistance IPX4 frame, IPX5 battery
Living with it

A key, a throttle, and no app to open

It starts on a key and moves on a twist. The headlight, the speed setting and the horn are all on the left grip, so nothing needs a phone and nothing pairs with anything. The seven-inch display is readable in direct sun and at night.

Thirty-four miles from the 48V pack covers a school run, a pharmacy stop and a park in the same afternoon, and a full charge takes six and a half to seven and a half hours.

  • Display 7 in
  • Ignition Key, twist throttle
  • Battery 48V 13Ah
  • Charge time 6.5 to 7.5 hours

Questions

Hiboy U2 Pro, answered

How much can the Hiboy U2 Pro carry?

265 lbs, or 120 kg, in total. That covers the rider and whatever is on the deck and in the basket together.

How fast does it go?

25 mph. Check your local rules before riding at that speed; New York City sets a 20 mph limit for electric scooters.

What is the range on a charge?

Up to 34 miles from the 48V 13Ah battery. Load, terrain, speed and temperature all change what you actually see.

Does it have a seat?

Yes, and it is a proper one: 3.5 inches of memory foam sitting over 125mm of rear suspension. You ride this seated.

Can the basket be removed?

Yes. The rear basket is detachable, so you can run it with or without depending on the day.

What are the tires like?

16 by 4 inches, all-terrain tread, front and rear. That width is what makes grass, gravel and packed snow rideable rather than something to avoid.

Can it go off road?

It handles gravel paths, packed dirt, grass and broken pavement comfortably. Rear suspension and the tire width do most of that work.

What brakes does it use?

A 160mm disc on each wheel. Wide tires also put more rubber down, which shortens the distance those discs need.

How steep a hill can it climb?

Hiboy rates it to 20 degrees. The 810W peak output is what carries a loaded ride up a long grade.

Does it need an app?

No. It starts on a key, and the lights, speed setting and horn are all on the left grip. Nothing to pair, nothing to update.

How long does it take to charge?

Six and a half to seven and a half hours from empty with the supplied charger.

Can I ride it in the rain?

The frame is rated IPX4 and the battery IPX5, so rain and wet roads are within what it is built for. One safety point worth stating plainly: never charge an electric scooter that is wet, or one whose battery looks swollen. Bring it straight in to us instead.

How big is it?

64.4 by 28.4 by 46.9 inches, and 80.69 lbs. It is closer in footprint to a small moped than a commuter electric scooter, which is what gives it the deck space.

Who is the U2 Pro for?

Anyone whose trips involve carrying something. School runs, market runs, a dog who comes along, a job that needs tools on board. If your ride is only ever you and a bag, there are lighter options in the range.
