Six hundred dollars usually buys you a motor, a battery and very little else. The Roamer arrives with coil suspension at both ends, lighting on four sides, and tracking through both Apple Find My and Google — the kit that normally starts appearing a thousand dollars further up.

What it does after you walk away
Almost every specification on an e-scooter describes the twenty minutes you are riding it. This one describes the eight hours it spends locked to a rack while you are at work, which is when most machines get taken.
Apple Find My
The Roamer shows up in the same app you would use to find a lost iPhone. A machine that has moved is a machine you can point at, rather than one you report.
Google tracking
The same on Android, through the Punk app. Whichever phone you carry, the Roamer is on a map rather than only in your memory.
Paired before you leave
Tracking is worth nothing switched off. We set it up with your phone at handover instead of leaving it for you to find in the manual.
Lit on four sides, plus reflectors
Most machines at this price light the front and the back and call it done. The Roamer puts light on the stem and along the deck as well, so you exist to a driver approaching from a side street — the angle that actually causes the accidents.
Coil springs at both ends, at this money
Front and rear coil suspension is the specification that separates the Roamer from everything else near its price. Rubber cartridges and solid forks are what most machines at $599 use; a proper spring has travel, and travel is what stops a raised drain cover reaching your knees.
It pairs with 10 by 3 inch tubeless tires, which are wide enough to take the edge off before the springs even get involved.

Rated IPX6, and photographed in the rain for a reason
Punk shoot the Roamer standing in a downpour, which is a fair thing to do with an IPX6 rating. It means the machine is built to take heavy spray from any direction — the puddle a bus throws at you, not just a light drizzle.
One thing that is never weather-proof is charging. Never plug in a machine that is wet or has a swollen pack — bring it straight in to us and we will look at it.

Fifty-two pounds, folded flat
The lightest machine Punk make, and the one most likely to actually go in a car boot or up a flight of stairs. The stem folds down onto the deck and the whole thing measures 1300 by 1300 by 650 mm standing.
At 52 lbs it is still a substantial object — but it is the one in this line-up you would carry rather than wheel.

28 miles, and a charge that fits an evening
A 48V 10Ah pack, good for up to 28 miles in Eco, charging in five to ten hours depending on how empty you have run it. For a machine bought to cover a few miles each way and sit on a charger overnight, that is the right size of battery — it keeps the weight at 52 lbs rather than 70.
If your riding is longer than that, the Punk Rider carries 18Ah and goes 40.
